The hotel is centrally located close to the station. It is a short walk to a nice, quiet area and the valley between the Japanese Alps next to a crystal-clear river. - the rooms are brand-new and cheap, with a really good bathroom.

It was a perfect location just next door to the central bus station, and the valley between the Japanese alps and next to a crystal clear river. It also was in an unattractive area:)))
Well, the area was unattractive overall.

The staff here are friendly, the location is great near a Shinto temple, and the rooms are affordable, new, and come with free WiFi.

Traditional, good sized Japanese room in good location. Room had a fridge and tv (albeit only Japanese tv) and there was hot water for a pot of tea. A great place if you are Japanese and ok for a night if you are a foreigner.
The staff didnt speak English. Only one person could use the bathing facilities at a time and I wast really sure how it worked so I didnt bother.

It has a very old feeling to it in a traditional sense. Its position next to the river just helps to enhance that rustic feel to the place.
The room could have been a bit more clean. The bed sheet had a bit of mould looking stains

I had a wonderful stay at this ryokan. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a cozy bed and all the amenities I needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The traditional Japanese yukata provided in the room added a special touch to my stay. Despite the language barrier, communication was not a problem as I could speak a little Japanese. The location was convenient, only a short walk from the train station. I highly recommend this ryokan for a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Nice and quite place. Traditional style.
A bit difficult to find coming from the train station and in the opposite direction of the main city attractions. Anyway, you can get the station walking about 12min.
